Forbidden Root, Chicago’s first botanic brewery, is honoring the work of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists with what they do best: beer. On August 30th, Forbidden Root releases their newest brew, “Atomic Child,” and the Bulletin will receive $1 for each glass of beer sold and each 4-pack purchased, as well as profits from related merchandise sold during the release.
An electric yellow ale, Atomic Child “radiates dank, tropical aromas” and is brewed with white wine grapes and a load of Citra, Mosaic, and Orbit hops, producing a “slightly sweet body slide into a complex dry finish that blooms like a mushroom cloud on the tongue.”
Sound tasty? The release party for Atomic Child is on Wednesday, August 30th from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1746 W. Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL, and it’s free and open to the public. If you are 21 or over, come to the party! You’ll be first on your block to taste Atomic Child, and you’ll even get to chat and share a pint with the Bulletin‘s executive director and publisher, Rachel Bronson.
The Bulletin is thankful to “Rootmaster” Robert Finkel, the driving force behind Forbidden Root, who will also be on hand, and artist Tony Fitzpatrick, whose stunningfor Atomic Child is his third design for the brewery’s collaborative beer series. Come to the release party to hear more about their collaboration, and be sure to visit Forbidden Root’s blog for updates on Chicago’s own brewery and Atomic Child.
