What’s New at the Bulletin

Congratulating Bulletin Program Manager Halley Posner

By , March 4, 2021

The Bulletin congratulates our own Halley Posner, who was selected to be part of the Nuclear Scholars Initiative this year.

The program is part of the Project on Nuclear Issues launched by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a bipartisan think tank in Washington D.C.

The Nuclear Scholars Initiative aims to provide top graduate students and young professionals with a unique venue to interact, dialogue, and gain in-depth knowledge on nuclear weapons.

“I’m delighted to participate in the Nuclear Scholars Initiative and look forward to learning from my fellow participants and the esteemed speakers,” said Posner, the Bulletin’s Program Manager. “During this program, I will be researching where and how the United States fits into the future of nuclear arms control agreements. I’ll explore nuclear statecraft, American hegemony past and present, and hope to interview experts in the field to present a multi-faceted answer.”

Over the course of the six-month program, scholars are required to prepare a research product and write a short analysis piece for the Next Generation Nuclear Network. Scholars can produce a variety of research products including a journal article for PONI’s annual journal, an op-ed, a presentation for a PONI conference or participate in a collaborative research project. Scholars will be given the opportunity to develop their research product in teams throughout the program and be matched with senior experts and members of the Mid-Career Cadre to review their research.

Meet the entire 2021 class of Nuclear Scholars here.
