The Department of State’s James Timbie Forum on Arms Control and Nonproliferation will take place this year in Washington D.C., on October 16-17, from 1-5pm each day. (It will include a virtual option for those unable to attend in person.) The Forum is named for James Timbie, a forty-year veteran of the Department of State and a key player in the formation or implementation of virtually every important arms control and nonproliferation effort that occurred during his tenure. This event will focus on fostering new voices and ideas to reduce the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction and other unconventional weapons. To attend the conference, register here.
Following the first day of the forum, join the Bulletin and our partners for a networking event open to conference attendees and others interested in the nuclear policy space. This is an opportunity to meet and mingle with others in the field whether you’re a student, just starting out, or well on your way in your career. Other hosts include professional development and networking organizations who can further help you connect to others in the field: Gender Champions for Nuclear Policy, Gin & Atomics, Out in National Security, and Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security, and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS).
In addition to food, drinks, and networking, there will also be a pub quiz with prizes from State’s Office of the Historian!
To attend the happy hour, register here: https://forms.gle/hqjA7AtnDFDzMDdTA
