National Security for Dummies is no way to learn the presidency

Retired Republican Senator John W. Warner of Virginia said Wednesday that when it comes time to pick a commander-in-chief, preparation is essential. “You can’t pull up a quick text like ‘National Security for Dummies,’ ”said Warner at a news conference in Alexandria on Wednesday—during which he endorsed the presidential ticket of the opposing party.

The 89-year-old Warner is a former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, a former US Navy secretary, and a World War II veteran. His comments focused heavily on military and national security issues, said this article in The Washington Post.
