“When the Land Runs Out” is a short story excerpted from a multi-point-of-view novel (unpublished as of yet) loosely based on my experiences walking across America on the Great Peace March for Global Nuclear Disarmament when I was 20 and terrified of nuclear war. My short fiction has appeared in Tulip Tree Press, Cutthroat Journal of the Arts, Onthebus, and other literary journals. I have a BA in journalism and wrote for the Los Angeles Times before earning my MA in English literature. I currently teach English composition and literature at Santa Barbara City College and live in Santa Barbara, CA.
