Michael Slater is Buffalo, NY born and bred but left home for undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago. After 15 meaningful years working in Washington, DC, mostly for Senator John Glenn (D-OH), he decided to pursue a medical degree at LECOM in Erie, PA.
After graduation, he worked for three years back home in the most underserved area of Buffalo. Subsequently, and after years of working for others, Slater struck out on his own, forming Compassionate Medical Care of WNY, which now has two locations. He speaks English, Spanish, French, Russian, and Italian. As in his career on Capitol Hill, Slater continues to maintain a keen interest in nuclear nonproliferation, chemical and biological weapons, and other related topics.
