
Robert Levinson served for 20 years in the United States Air Force as an intelligence officer retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Subsequent to his military career ,he worked as a defense contractor and lobbyist prior to joining Bloomberg Government where he was the Senior Defense Analyst for 10 years. After leaving Bloomberg, he next served as the National Security Advisor to both the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein and Sen. Laphonza Butler of California. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Affairs from the US Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of California at San Diego and a master’s degree in Global Risk from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Bologna, Italy. He has been published in War on the Rocks, Inkstick, the Washington Post, Air and Space Power Journal, and Haaretz among others. He has also appeared on CSPAN, Bloomberg Television and National Public Radio.
