Former Governing Board Chair Bill Revelle and his wife, Eleanor, have announced that they will double every gift made to the Bulletin before May 31 for increased coverage of climate and energy issues, up to a total of $50,000.
"The Revelles have been leading proponents of clean energy solutions, and they are keenly aware of the need to focus public attention on growing risks," said Executive Director Kennette Benedict. "We are grateful for their challenge gift, and their determination to inspire citizen action and policy solutions. It begins with a clear understanding of the emerging dangers."
Increased funding will extend the Bulletin's coverage and add multi-media features on how escalating carbon emissions, extreme weather, and rising sea levels threaten humanity, strain relations between nations, and exacerbate conflicts within societies.
Contributions can be made through the Bulletin's secure donor portal or by sending gifts to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, PO Box 744, New Lenox, IL 60451-0744.
