The Bulletin is pleased to welcome Michael Lee to the Governing Board, effective immediately.

Michael Lee is a partner in Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group and serves as a member of Reed Smith’s Executive Committee, the Firm’s global governing board. Lee focuses his practice on acting as corporate counsel to businesses and investors. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing transactions, complex joint ventures, recapitalizations and restructurings, licensing transactions and general corporate counseling. With a J.D. from the University of Chicago (1998) and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University (1991), Lee applies his technical background in the representation of technology companies in intellectual property and information technology agreements.

“Michael’s demonstrated leadership and mix of legal and engineering expertise make him a powerful addition to the Bulletin’s board,” said Governing Board chair David Kuhlman. “We are pleased to have him join us and thankful that he will continue the multi-year legacy of leaders at Reed Smith whose pro bono assistance is invaluable to the Bulletin, from contract support to intellectual property protection.”

The Bulletin’s Governing Board is composed of recognized leaders in their respective fields. Its responsibilities include setting the strategic direction of the organization; ensuring the organization operates in a legal, ethical, and professional manner; participating in Doomsday Clock discussions; representing the organization at public events; and assisting in raising funds for the Bulletin’s continued operation and fiscal stability. The Board meets quarterly, and its committees meet more regularly.
