Marcel Tyrell

Marcel Tyrell is professor of Banking and Finance at Witten/Herdecke University. He earned his PhD and completed his habilitation in economics at Goethe University Frankfurt. His research focuses on the evolving structure of monetary and financial systems and their associated risk dynamics. Further areas of interest include the implications of increasing digitalization in the economy and society—particularly its effects on income and wealth distribution—as well as topics in corporate finance. He has held visiting professorships at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen.
