Robert J. Goldston

Robert J. Goldston is a professor of Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University, and was the director of the US Energy Department’s Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) from 1997 to 2009. He is an active researcher both in fusion energy, and in arms control and non-proliferation. In fusion research, PPPL is constructing the NSTX-U Spherical Tokamak. It collaborates with ITER, other publicly funded fusion institutions, and multiple private fusion companies. Goldston operates Zax Fusion Energy Consulting LLC, which provides analysis for fusion investors. In arms control, he works on means to verify warheads for dismantlement, and in non-proliferation he works on means to safeguard gas-centrifuge enrichment plants.
