Richard Roberts

Richard Roberts is a British biochemist and molecular biologist who won the 1993 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine alongside Phillip Sharp for their work on split genes.

He was Chief Scientific Officer at New England Biolabs in 1992 and holds an honorary doctorate from Uppsala University in Sweden.

In addition to his Nobel prize, Roberts is the recipient of the Golden Plate Award and more.

Currently, Roberts is working with 131 Nobel Laureates on a campaign to ensure safety in using GMO techniques for improving plant varieties.
