
David L. Faigman is Chancellor & Dean and the John F. Digardi Distinguished Professor of Law at University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. He is also a Professor in the School of Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. He writes regularly on the use of scientific research in legal decision making. He served as a Committee member for the 2003 NRC Report, “The Polygraph and Lie Detection,” and as a Senior Advisor to the 2016 Report of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, “Forensic Science in Criminal Courts: Ensuring Scientific Validity of Feature-Comparison Methods.”
