Elizabeth Samuels is the Bulletin’s human resources consultant. She founded EMS Consulting to work with mission driven organizations and their Boards to enhance their strategic, fiscal, organizational, risk management and operational capabilities. She has extensive experience leading projects for high growth mission-driven start-ups, social sector not-for-profits, family offices, private foundations, and higher education institutions. Specific project work includes strategic plan development/execution, governance models design/implementation, leading fundraising initiatives, performing community outreach, financial analysis/oversight, HR program and policy review/design and risk management assessment/mitigation. Elizabeth is a Trustee of Francis W Parker School, where she chairs the Audit Committee, is a member of the Finance Committee, and is a member of the Board of the Alumni Association. She is also the Board 1st VP and VP of Administration for Temple Sholom of Chicago. Elizabeth has a BA in History from Syracuse University and an MA in International Affairs from American University. Elizabeth lives in Lincoln Park with her husband and has twin college-aged children.
