Elizabeth M. Samuels

Elizabeth Samuels is the Bulletin‘s human resources consultant. She founded EMS Consulting to work with mission-driven organizations and their Boards to enhance their strategic, fiscal, organizational, risk management and operational capabilities. She has extensive experience leading projects for high growth mission-driven start-ups, social sector not-for-profits, family offices, private foundations, and higher education institutions. Specific project work includes strategic plan development/execution, governance models design/implementation, leading fundraising initiatives, performing community outreach, financial analysis/oversight, HR program and policy review/design and risk management assessment/mitigation. Elizabeth is a Trustee of Francis W Parker School, where she chairs the Audit Committee, is a member of the Finance Committee, and is a member of the Board of the Alumni Association. She is also the Board 1st VP and VP of Administration for Temple Sholom of Chicago. Elizabeth has a BA in History from Syracuse University and an MA in International Affairs from American University. Elizabeth lives in Lincoln Park with her husband and has twin college-aged children.
