TRUMP TWEETS CAPITALIZED IRAN THREAT. ODD.

By John Mecklin | July 23, 2018

PRESIDENT TRUMP TWEETED AN UPPER-CASE WARNING TO IRANIAN PRESIDENT HASSAN ROUHANI TO “NEVER, EVER” AGAIN THREATEN THE UNITED STATES.

THE CAPITALIZED THREAT APPARENTLY WAS A RESPONSE TO AN EARLIER ROUHANI SPEECH IN WHICH THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT SAID, “Peace with Iran would be the mother of all peace, and war with Iran would be the mother of all wars.”

IRAN’S FOREIGN MINISTER, JAVAD ZARIF, TWEETED A REACTION TO TRUMP’S THREAT THAT WAS ONLY PARTLY CAPITALIZED.

THE NEW YORK TIMES MADE A DECENT STAB AT REPORTING ON THE PRESIDENT’S CAPITALIZED SOCIAL MEDIA RANT WITHOUT OVERT SNEERING HERE.
