Adriana Petryna is Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Term Professor of Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the author of Life Exposed: Biological Citizens after Chernobyl (Princeton University Press) and the co-author of Global Pharmaceuticals: Ethics, Markets, Practices (Duke University Press). Her recently published book, When Experiments Travel: Clinical Trials and the Global Search for Human Subjects (Princeton University Press), explores patient protection in the context of globalizing clinical research.
