Robert J. Geller is Professor of Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Planetary Science at The University of Tokyo. His current research interests focus on numerical modeling of seismic-wave propagation and inversion of observed seismic-waveform data for the structure of the Earth’s interior, but he has also written extensively on problems afflicting earthquake-prediction research.
