Lutz Mez is senior adjunct professor of political science at the department of political and social sciences, Freie Universität Berlin. In April 1986, he acted as co-founder of the Environmental Policy Research Centre and served as its executive director until 2010. Since November 2009, he has been coordinator of the Berlin Centre for Caspian Region Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. His major research area is comparative environmental and energy policy, with particular reference to nuclear and electricity policy. His books in English include: Green Power Markets (Multi-Science, 2007) and International Perspective on Energy Policy and the Role of Nuclear Power (Multi-Science, 2009), which was edited with Mycle Schneider and Stephen Thomas.
