P.R.Vasudeva Rao has been director of the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research in Kalpakkam, India since 2013. He is also the director of the Centre's Chemistry Group, where he oversees research and development on chemistry issues related to fast reactor technology and especially the fuel cycle. In addition, he is a senior professor at the Homi Bhabha National Institute. He is the 2007 recipient of the Indian Nuclear Society Award for his contributions to nuclear fuel cycle technologies. He holds a doctorate in actinide chemistry from Bombay University.
