Austin R. Cooper

Austin R. Cooper is a Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow in the Security Studies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Before MIT, he held fellowships in the Nuclear Knowledges Program at SciencesPo Paris and the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University. His research has also received support from the Fulbright-Hays Program and the Wilson Center’s Nuclear Proliferation International History Project. His work on French nuclear weapons has appeared in Cold War History, The Conversation, and Inkstick Media. He holds a PhD in History and Sociology of Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
