Shirley Malcom
Shirley Malcom is known internationally for her efforts to improve women’s access to education and science and engineering careers.
Currently, Malcom serves as the head of Education and Human Resources Programs at the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She is also a trustee of Caltech, a regent of Morgan State University, and a member of the SUNY Research Council. She has served on the National Science Board, the National Science Foundation, and President Clinton’s Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology.
Malcom has received 16 honorary degrees and numerous awards including the 2003 Public Welfare Medal. Articles by Malcom have been published in outlets such as Scientific American and The Conservation.
