Peter Hammond Schwartz

Peter Hammond Schwartz is a writer, based in the Pacific Northwest. He received his PhD in political philosophy from University of California, Berkeley, taught at the University of Maryland and Washington University in St. Louis, worked as the Politics editor for Microsoft Encarta, and founded an online legal news and research company called Knowledge Mosaic that LexisNexis purchased in 2012. Peter has written about the connections between religion and politics in historical and philosophical contexts for the bulk of his adult life, with published articles and essays in peer-reviewed journals, edited volumes, and opinion magazines. Recent publications include profiles of international security and disarmament experts Kennette Benedict and Gael Tarleton.
