Jose Garza-Martinez

Jose Garza-Martinez is serving as a researcher and lecturer at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Mexico, specializing in biotechnology, biosecurity, and educational innovation. His current interests focus on applications of biosecurity and emerging technologies in low- and middle-income country settings. Jose has been a Youth for Biosecurity fellow with the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs and a delegate of the Nuclear Threat Initiative to the Biological Weapons Convention. He has represented the iGEM Foundation at the Global Health Security Conference. Beyond academia, he contributes to security education through nonprofit organizations and synthetic biology advancements. He holds a bachelor's in biotechnology engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico.
