Bezuidenhout is a lecturer at the Steve Biko Centre for Bioethics at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and a research fellow at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. Her research focuses on ways to strengthen the engagement of scientists in low- and middle-income countries in discourse surrounding life science ethics. She received a doctorate in sociology from the University of Exeter in 2013 and also holds a doctorate in cell biology from the University of Cape Town.
