John F. Kennedy

John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States, serving from January 1961 until his assassination in November, 1963. A member of the Democratic Party, Kennedy narrowly defeated former vice-president Richard Nixon in the 1960 election. This essay comes from a speech he made in March on the 1960 presidential campaign. Image taken during the first television debate between Kennedy and Nixon, in Chicago in 1960.
