Welcoming Dave Kuhlman as Governing Board First Vice-Chair

The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists is delighted to announce that Dave Kuhlman has been elected First Vice-Chair to the organization’s Governing Board. The position of First Vice-Chair serves as the “chair elect,” assuming the role as chair of the board when the current chair’s term ends.  

Kuhlman has served on the Board since January 2019. He is managing partner of Axiom Consulting Partners, a consulting firm that helps clients identify pathways to profitable growth and align their organizations for long-term success. 

“Dave Kuhlman’s leadership skills and organizational savvy have already brought multiple benefits to the Bulletin,” said John Balkcom, chair of the Governing Board. “He has been deeply involved in the development of our strategic plan, helping us to think deeply about where we want to go as an organization and how to get there. I am gratified to know that he will be taking the helm when my term as chair of the Governing Board is up in the year 2022.” 

“I am honored to accept this position on the Bulletin’s Governing Board,” said Kuhlman from his home office in Princeton, New Jersey. “We have accomplished so much together in such a short time, and I look forward to continuing what we’ve begun to ensure that the Bulletin’s mission and legacy endure.” 

The Bulletin‘s Governing Board is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization; ensuring the organization operates in a legal, ethical and professional manner; participating in Doomsday Clock discussions; representing the organization at public events; and assisting in raising funds for the Bulletin’s continued operation and fiscal stability.
