Edmund G. Brown Jr. (Executive Chair)

Jerry Brown served as Governor of California from 1975 to 1983 and again from 2011 to 2019 making him the longest-serving governor of the state.

He is a lawyer and politician who has also been Chairman of the California Democratic Party, Mayor of Oakland, and a 1978 Democratic presidential nominee candidate.

He has authored multiple books including California Planets: A Guide to Our Iconic Flora (2018) and Coastal California: The Pacific Coast Highway and Beyond (2017).

Brown currently serves as the executive chair of the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board.
