Jerome Friedman

As a seasoned physicist and an Institute Professor and Professor of Physics, Emeritus, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Jerome Friedman has received multiple honors for his work including the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun, the Golden Plate Award of the American Academy of Achievement.

Friedman received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1990 alongside Henry Kendall and Richard Taylor for their pioneering work related to particle physics. 

In addition to his Nobel Prize, Friedman has also contributed to or authored over 13 books, including Elements of Statistical Learning (2017) and Classification andRegression of Trees (1984).
