Alexander Baranov is a leading scientific researcher at the Burnasyan Federal Medical Biophysical Center of the Federal Medical Biological Agency, Moscow, Russia. He is a haematologist and an expert on nuclear accidents. He headed the Soviet medical team at Hospital 6 and the Institute of Biophysics in Moscow, where most of the Chernobyl radiation victims were treated.
