Barb Vicory

Barb Vicory (she/her) is the interim Chief Advancement Officer for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, working with individuals and institutions to advance the Bulletin’s mission. She oversees all aspects of fundraising, including individual, foundation, corporate, and event giving. Barb has served in leadership roles within the nonprofit sector for 30 years and for the past 10 years as a consultant with local and national nonprofits, boosting the impact of mission-driven organizations through effective and sustainable fundraising operations. Barb has worked with some of the Chicago area’s treasured institutions, including Erie Family Health Centers; WTTW, Chicago’s PBS station; Center on Halsted; Life After Justice; the Lake County Forest Preserve District; and Equal Hope/Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force. Barb holds an AB in Mathematics from Smith College, and Masters degrees in Urban Planning and Social Work from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Board Consulting from BoardSource.
