Brendan Monks

Brendan Monks is an Innovation Manager at Merck. He holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Indiana where he concentrated in developing new transition metal catalyzed carbon-carbon bond forming reactions. After that he became a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow and worked at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung preforming total synthesis of complex natural products. In his current role, he is working on initiatives in the science and technology work stream in preparation for and following up on the 350^th year anniversary of Merck (Curious2020 – Future Insight Conference, Curious2018 – Future Insight Conference, 350 Research Grants, and 350 Research Challenges).
