David E. Hoffman

Hoffman is a contributing editor at The Washington Post, where he previously served as the paper’s White House correspondent, Moscow bureau chief, and assistant managing editor for foreign news. He is the author of The Dead Hand: The Untold Story of the Cold War Arms Race and Its Dangerous Legacy, which Doubleday published in September. Drawing on previously undisclosed Soviet documents, the book tells of the last years of the Cold War arms race and explores what happened to the weapons and the weapons scientists after the Soviet collapse.
