Erich Schneider is an associate professor, Chevron faculty fellow, and coordinator of the Nuclear and Radiation Engineering Program at the University of Texas at Austin. He began his career a staff scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory; his research focuses on advanced nuclear fuel cycles and technologies, including issues associated with the uranium resource. Schneider has consulted for the US Energy Department in multiple areas related to uranium, notably resources and production costs, uranium recovery from seawater, and depleted uranium management.
