Gernot Wagner

Wagner is an economist with the Climate and Air Program at the Environmental Defense Fund where he works on developing and applying economically sound climate policy in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to EDF, Wagner worked for the Boston Consulting Group, focusing on energy and sustainable development practice areas. He also wrote for the editorial board of the Financial Times in London as a Peter Martin Fellow, where he covered economics, energy, and the environment. Wagner holds a joint bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public policy, and economics, a master’s in economics from Stanford, and a PhD in political economy and government from Harvard.
