Ingrid E. Newkirk

Ingrid E. Newkirk is the cofounder and president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), the largest animal rights organization in the world. She has spoken internationally on animal rights issues, from the steps of the Canadian Parliament to the streets of New Delhi, India and has spearheaded huge victories for animals, including ending all crash tests on animals by car companies internationally and securing the first felony convictions of factory farm workers. She is the author of Animalkind: Remarkable Discoveries about Animals and Revolutionary New Ways to Show Them Compassion and several other books.
