Julius Weitzdörfer

Julius Weitzdörfer is a junior professor in East Asian law and director of the Department of Japanese Law at the University of Hagen. He is a Research Affiliate of the Center for the Study of Existential Risk and formerly was a Director of Studies and an Affiliated Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Cambridge, from which he also holds an M.A. After studying in Leipzig, Tokyo, and Hamburg, as well as holding doctoral scholarships in Kyoto and Frankfurt, he gained his doctorate in law from the University of Hamburg before accepting a Stanton Nuclear Security Junior Faculty Fellowship with the Project on Managing the Atom at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
