Katarzyna Zysk is an associate professor at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies, where she serves as head of research and deputy director. In 2016–2017, she was a visiting scholar at the Center for International Security and Cooperation at Stanford University, and subsequently a visiting research fellow at the Changing Character of War Programme at the University of Oxford. She is also a member of the Hoover Institution’s Arctic Security Initiative at Stanford University, and served as acting dean of the Norwegian Defence University College and a research fellow at the US Naval War College’s Center for Naval Warfare Studies. Her principal areas of expertise include Russia’s military strategy, security, and defense policies.
