Mayra Ameneiros is a Research Associate at King’s College London’s Centre for Science and Security Studies. She is a member of the Technical Advisory Group on Health-Security Interface at the World Health Organization. Ameneiros is the Deputy Coordinator and part of the Board of Directors at the Next Generation Global Health Security Network, where she serves as a liaison to the Global Health Security Agenda Consortium´s Steering Committee and the Biological Weapons Convention NGO working group. She is a former Emerging Leaders in Biosecurity Fellow at Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security as well as a former Arms Control Negotiation Academy Fellow at Harvard University Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. Her primary interests focus on addressing the biosecurity risks posed by emerging technologies, strengthening biosecurity capacity at national and international levels, bridging the gap between science and diplomacy, and promoting youth engagement in these important issues.
