Nikita Perumal is a senior undergraduate in the Dual BA Program between Columbia University in New York City and Sciences Po in Paris. At Columbia, she is completing a degree in human rights with a specialization in sustainable development. Her research interests revolve around the intersections between human rights and climate change. She also works as a teaching assistant with Columbia’s Earth Institute and as a research assistant at the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law. Nikita has been organizing with Columbia Divest for Climate Justice (CDCJ) since her second semester at Columbia; she participated in the April 2016 CDCJ sit-in for the first 50 hours of occupation and later organized from the outside to support the remaining occupiers.
