Ryan W. French

Ryan W. French is an operations specialist with the Strategic and Operational Research Department at the US Naval War College, where he tracks geopolitical and military issues across the Asia-Pacific. He holds an MA in security studies (specializing in defense decision-making and planning) from the US Naval Postgraduate School and an AB from the University of Georgia. He recently authored an article for Strategic Studies Quarterly on escalation risks between India and Pakistan, with a focus on air and land operations, titled “Deterrence Adrift?
