Robert E. Berls Jr.

Robert E. Berls Jr. is a senior adviser for Russia and Eurasia at the Nuclear Threat Initiative’s Global Nuclear Policy Program. Berls ran the Initiative’s Moscow office from 2002 to 2009, and helped manage all of NTI’s projects in Russia that addressed nuclear, chemical, and biological threats. He previously served 26 years in the US Air Force, rising to the rank of colonel, and served as air attaché at the US Embassy in Moscow during the 1980s.
