Sami S. Sherbini is a senior level advisor for health physics at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), where he has worked for more than 27 years. He started his NRC career as a nuclear power plant health physics (radiation protection) inspector in NRC’s Region I office near Philadelphia. He then moved to headquarters, where he has held progressively more technical positions in providing health physics expertise to support rulemaking in radiation protection, nuclear medicine, and other radioactive materials regulation. Prior to the NRC, he worked in the commercial nuclear industry, including Three Mile Island, starting in 1979.
