Kotnis is a doctoral student in the Department of Social Anthropology at the University of Aarhus, Denmark, and at the BIOS Centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her research focuses on security cultures and the military use of neurotechnology. She has a master’s degree in social anthropology and has done fieldwork at the Auditor General of British Columbia, Canada, in the U.N. system, and in the Danish military.
