A political scientist, Khaitous is a visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. He recently held a postdoctoral fellowship at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies. Fluent in Arabic and French, his expertise is in nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and North Africa. He also researches nuclear energy and security in these regions. Previously, he worked at UNESCO, helping prepare briefings and reports concerning the political and sociological situation of Arab countries and summarizing the statements of Arab member states.
