Ted Lieu

Congressman Ted Lieu, in his third term in Congress, represents California’s 33^rd District. In his first term he was elected president of the Democratic Freshman Class by his colleagues; last term he was elected as a vice chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; and this term he was elected to House leadership. Lieu serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. Prior to Congress, he served nine years in the California State Legislature and one term on the Torrance City Council. He previously served on active duty in the United States Air Force and is a colonel in the Air Force reserves. He graduated with a B.S. and B.A. from Stanford and a J.D. magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review.
