Vladimir Marakhonov is a physicist and an independent scholar currently based in Finland. He worked as a research fellow at the Ioffe Institute in Leningrad/Saint-Petersburg for 15 years and participated in several research projects for the Russian military industry. From the 1990s until the 2010s, he worked at several senior positions in projects for adapting the post-soviet industry to the market economy. He holds a PhD in physics and mathematics from the Ioffe Institute.
